Frequently asked questions

Below are answers to common questions about our academic programmes. If you don't find what you need, contact the academic office.

What curricula do you offer (AP vs State Board)?

We offer both the Advanced Placement (AP) pathway and the State Board curriculum. The AP pathway provides college-level coursework and exam preparation for students aiming for university credit, while the State Board curriculum follows the local/state syllabus and prepares students for board examinations. Visit the AP and State Board curriculum pages for full details.

How do students choose between AP and State courses?

Course selection is based on student interests, prior attainment and long-term goals. Counselors and subject teachers will advise on prerequisites and suitability. Many students take a mix of both pathways where appropriate. Contact academic counseling for a one-to-one consultation.

Which grades are eligible for AP courses?

AP courses are typically offered to senior students (Grades 11–12) though exceptional students in Grade 10 may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Check each course page for the grade mapping and prerequisites.

How are assessments and exams organized?

Assessments include regular formative tests, term exams and mock examinations for AP-style preparation. Exam windows and important dates are published in the Academic Calendar and on subject pages. For board exam guidance, see the State Board curriculum page.

Where can I download syllabi and sample papers?

Syllabi, past papers and topic handouts are available on the Resources page and individual course pages. Use the Resources hub to filter by subject or grade and download files directly.

How do I enroll in an AP course or request a course change?

Enrollment typically requires a teacher recommendation or meeting prerequisites. Consult the admissions office or your counselor for placement. Course changes early in the term may be allowed depending on timetable availability and teacher approval.

What safety and lab protocols apply to science courses?

Laboratory safety is mandatory for all practical classes. Students must follow the published safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE for lab work. See the lab safety policy in the resources section for details.

How do I request exam accommodations or special educational support?

Students with documented needs should contact the academic office with supporting documentation. The school reviews each request and provides reasonable accommodations where appropriate (e.g., extra time, separate room, assistive technology).
